From spreadsheet to state machine: automating a batch job chain

The problem
A payment company ran a long chain of scheduled batch jobs whose order lived only in a spreadsheet, and operators started them by hand.
What I built
I wrote a tool that reads the spreadsheet, rebuilds the real order of the jobs and generates a workflow with the correct parallel branches.
The result
Operators no longer read a spreadsheet to know what runs after what.
